Foodbanks in the UK
- Not every immigrant from Eastern Europe is aware of the existance of food banks in the UK. Especially the vulnerable people, who do not speak English and have low litteracy levels. So how would Roma know of this essential and sometimes – life saving food support? Well, now Roma Voice Centre is here to help share the information about essential support available to all UK residents – in the native language of Roma people: Romanes. This time we speak about Food bank/hub and how to benefit of it.

Free Legai Aid information
- Majority of Roma people are imigrants in the UK. They arrived here, searching for a better life and brighter future for the little ones. As immigrants we need to always be aware of our rights and obligations in the country we live. However illiteracy and language barrier are preventing many Roma families from obtaining such information. That is why the Roma Voice Centre created this video, where we share information in Romanes language on where to seek free Legal Aid and Immigration Adice. This video is realised by the Roma Voice Centre in partnership with Suffolk Law Centre and AndoGlasso with the support of The National Lottery Fund.

Maternity support for Roma women
In our experinece working with the Roma community, we (Roma Voice Centre) realised that Roma women are more vulnerable than men – for different reasons:
- patriarchal views of traditional communities
- discouragement to pursue education
- early marriages and family duties ahead of time
- etc
However, being immigrants is also implying that they do not speak (at all or partially) English, which marginalises them from obtainig pivotal information. Pregnancy, women’s health, maternity – those are topics that are unexplored by majority of Roma women. Roma Voice Centre created this video in Romanes to inform the women of what support is available when they expect a baby. This video is realised by the Roma Voice Centre in partnership with Ipswich Community Media and AndoGlasso, with the support of The National Lottery Fund. Thanks to contributions of all participants: Rachel Heathcock, Crina Morteanu, Monika Puchala and Romeo Mustata. Access to Hisher Education for Roma students
It is very important to support vulnerable communities in their attempts and willingness to pursue a Higher Education degree. Because this might be a life-changing opportunity to improve their overall situation. Roma people do not have much accesible to them information about Higher Education options. For instance, they do not know of scholarship, where these can be found, how to apply for accomodation, how actually to apply for university, and about student finance. In this video we share a few tips, directly from providers, in Romanes language, which will help young Roma people understand their options and plan for a university application. Employment support for Roma
When economic immigrants come to the UK, first thing they need to do – is to obtain a legal right to work.
In this film we provide essential information on how to obtain Right to Work in Romanes language. But also, we demonstrate where Roma migrants can seek Employment assistance in their language.
